Showa instead of Poldi
Article Abstract:
Showa Aluminium Corporation (SAC) (Japan), condenser manufacturer, plans to build a new plant in Kladno, Czech Republic, by 1999. The company will invest 22 mil USD in the project. The plant should be commissioned in January 1999. It will produce about 20,000 condensers per month, mostly for exports. The car company Skoda Auto (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic) will take roughly 5% of its production. The new plant should employ about 170 persons. The project should partly resolve the unemployment existing in Kladno after production restriction at the steel company Poldi (Kladno, Czech Republic).
