Policies, decisions and information sources for modeling
Article Abstract:
System dynamics is a relatively new concept allowing the creation of simulation models that can be used in practically any decision making situation. Such models collect and organize numerical, written and mental data to facilitate information processing and the implementation of various courses of action by managers in making decisions. The decision making process is governed by policies that must be identified, described and implemented based on available variables that account for effects of variables on each other and of external factors on variables. Applications to modeling business and economic behavior are discussed.
