Both Pres Clinton and the Republican Party are calling for unwise economic policy changes to curry favor with voters. The Republicans want to cut gasoline taxes, while Clinton wants to raise the federal minimum wage. The Heritage Foundation issued a misleading report about taxes and job creation.

Too hot to handle
Article Abstract:
Neither Bill Clinton or Bob Dole is saying too much in the campaign about reform in entitlement spending, because the issue is so politically sensitive. Both Social Security and Medicare need extensive reform as well as the tax code, but neither candidate is offering specific plans.
