Power crazy
Article Abstract:
International expansion plans of electric power companies have been affected by the economic problems of developed economies. Some deals are going ahead, such as Enron's acquisition of a stake in a Brazilian distribution company, but others are being postponed. There is also more difficulty in obtaining finance for projects. Electricity companies can still expand in developed economies, as is the case of National Power, expanding in the US. Such deals may bring problems due to different regulatory systems.
