Preussag posts pretax profit rise in core activities
Article Abstract:
Preussag AG announced that it posted a 32% improvement in its group pretax profits for the first six months of 1999. The group posted 417 million deutschemarks ($222.9 million) for the period. The figure was higher than what analysts had predicted. Preussag also reported a 33% decline in its net profits compared to the same period in 1998. However, analysts were pleased by the figures as Preussag starts to consolidate itself as a major presence in the European travel and tourism group.
