Primal dream
Article Abstract:
Hong Kong University's Billy Hau Chi-hang aims to improve the diversity of HongKong's forests. Deforestation has been blamed for soil erosion and flooding in summer 1998. Parasites have affected forests dominated bya single tree species. Hau is setting up a nursery of native trees and plans trials on small sites. It is not clear how the reforestation project will be paid for, but electricity companies could contribute in exchange for freedom over emissions of carbon monoxide.
