Article Abstract:
The ceramic tile manufacturers have not offered many new products although wood-effect tiles are being sold by Langley Architectural. The makers of vinyl flooring all undertake water-jet cutting services. Their products are similar in quality only differing in style and colours. Carpets made of a 80% wool to 20% nylon mixture remain the most popular, with 100% nylon carpets being the alternative choice for most customers. Wood effect and wood floors remain very popular, with more long lasting products on offer. Most flooring made from resin-based products are very similar to each other.

Article Abstract:
There is a wide range of floor coverings with new designs being introduced regularly for all materials. Carpet, often seen in Britain as a low cost material, can be used in quality applications and new designs demonstrate the variety of colour and pattern available. The carpet tile market is dominated by Miliken and Interface although Collins and Aikman is marketing environmentally friendly products. Hard flooring includes ceramic tiles, vinyl, stone and timber. Innovative products and designs are apparent with these materials and they are complemented by new coatings and sealants.

Article Abstract:
The choice of materials used for flooring is very wide and will often depend on the situation and particular use of the area that requires covering. Wooden flooring which lasts for around 50 years is extremely popular in all situations, especially if an area is well used. Carpets are made from a variety of materials and this will affect the cost and usage. Chemicals applied to the carpets can make them stain- and fire-proof. Cheap new floorings made from plastic or rubber are mainly used in restaurants which require easily-cleanable floors.
