The market for mergers and acquisitions in the UK was led by Lazard Brothers in 1st half 1995 with deals amounting to 10.85 billion pounds sterling. Baring Brothers came second with 9.58 billion pounds worth of deals, though this excludes the sale of Barings itself, acquired by Internationale Nederlanden Group. Morgan Stanley ranked third with 9.39 billion pounds worth of deals, and Flemings ranked fourth with 4.84 billion pounds worth in the above period.
