Recent construction disasters may be hurting reputation of South Korean builders abroad
Article Abstract:
South Korean firms seeking foreign contracts have been negatively affected by the series of industrial accidents in their country such as the collapse of a bridge and a gas explosion which both resulted in several fatalities. So far, existing Korean ventures are doing well. However, it has been observed that Korean firms have been excluded from the bidding of many upcoming projects in Southeast Asia. Countries in the region have even gone to the extent of requiring safety inspections of Korean firms intending to invest in their area.
