Philip Johnson's observation on the financial failure of architectures that is an obstacle to invention and ambition is highlighted. It is indicated that money plays an important role in rewarding people and quality of life initiatives can be pursed only with the availability of funds.

Architecture is about risk and scraping through against all odds, where established partners leave for new ventures, while successful practices spend their lifespan generating new practices. Great architecture is often produced in the most difficult of circumstances.
