Punch International, the Evergem (Belgium) based company is to enter the Belgian stockmarket, possibly in November 1998 although this date has not yet been confirmed. Punch (turnover BFr 2bn, 1,200 employees) produces electrical components for television, radio and telecommunications equipment, and counts large enterprises such as Sony and Philips amongst its clients. It is currently held at 51% by Guido Dumarey, with the remaining capital shared between several west-Flanders based investors. The precise amount of the operation has not yet been specified, although estimates of approximately BFr 800mn have been made. It is pointed out that the operation will not include the listing of shares in Page+, which is part of Punch International.

Miko, the Belgian coffee business, will float 555,000 shares on the Belgian stock market. The operation will be carried out from 8 to 18 September 1998. The Belgian firm is to offer 425,000 existing shares and increase its capital by issuing 130,000 new shares. The company expects to raise from BFr 666mn to BFr 749mn. Miko, which posted a BFr 76mn net profit and a BFr 1.4bn turnover, expects to report a BFr 2bn turnover by 2001-2002. The company, which is controlled the Michielsen family, wants to raise funds to finance its development. Miko is reported to have strong ambitions in the UK and in France. The company is in talks regarding a significant take-over in France, Miko says.
