Noodle-maker shines as investment staple

Nong Shim, the No. 1 instant noodles manufacturer headquartered in South Korea, sees stable market and more investment for its business. Nong Shim, which accounts for 64% of the country's noodle market, has increased its instant noodles sales by 30% in the first six months of 1998. The company is also projected to boost its earnings by not less than 30% to 32.9 billion won for the year ended June 30, 1998, according to CEO Thae Khwarg of Asset Korea Capital Management, an asset management firm in Seul, South Korea.
