Slow start to post-war recovery
Article Abstract:
Kuwait's new government will focus on revitalizing the country's ailing economy. The extensive devastation wrought by the Persian Gulf war to the country's petroleum industry was not enough to trigger a construction boom, which was needed to accelerate economic activity to pre-war levels. At present, the government will continue with plans to further develop the petroleum industry's production capacity, which is slowly climbing back to pre-war production figures.
