Raytheon profit rose by 9% in 2nd quarter

Raytheon Co. posted an improvement of 9% in its earnings for the second-quarter of 1999. Raytheon reported $294 million (279.4 million euros) in earnings for the period. The company's savings from the restructuring of its defense-electronics business greatly helped its earnings. During the same period in 1998, Raytheon posted $270 million in earnings. The company's revenues also rose to $5.2 billion from $5.1 billion during the same period in 1998.

Raytheon unveils 2002 forecast
