Reckitt & Colman and Benckiser agree to merge in 3.28 billion euros transaction

Reckitt & Colman PLC has reached an agreement to merge with Dutch-based Benckiser NV in a deal worth 2.2 billion pound sterling (3.28 billion euros). The deal involves an exchange of shares. Reckitt & Colman is a maker of household cleaning products based in Great Britain. The Harpic and Air Wick brands would be merged with Benckiser's famous brands as a result of the deal. The merged entity will be called Reckitt Benckiser.
