India and China have reduced the incidence of hijackings by using armed sky marshals on flights. China experienced 28 hijackings in 1992-200, according to the United States Federal Aviation Administration, but there have been no successful hijackings since 1998. India has pairs of sky marshals on flights, and searches carry-on bags even after X-ray screening.

Sale of 30 Jets Gives Boeing a Much-Needed Boost

Boeing Co. will sell at least 30 Boeing 737 jets to the government of China in a deal valued at over $1.4 billion. China is expected to be the second-largest source of revenues for Boeing during the next 20 years.
