Regulator says France Telecom acted in anticompetitive way
Article Abstract:
France Telecom SA has been charged with conducting anticompetitive operations by the French telecommunications regulator. Financial penalties or a license suspension could be imposed on the company. The regulators believe France Telecom did not make widely available its list of calling rates to customers and rivals. The company also prematurely started offering discount rates for customers who used a special code before making a phone call.

France Telecom faces U.S. lawsuit after fine
Article Abstract:
Telecommunications giant France Telecom is the defendant in a civil suit being tried in the United States. The basis for the suit is a rival's claim that the company attempted to restrict their selling of customer information to a U.S. direct marketing firm. France Telecom responded to the $300 million suit by stating that the contention is based on French privacy laws, and therefore has no place in the court of a foreign country.
