The transplanting of organs has been a filled with risks because of the body's inclination to reject foreign objects, but research is offering hope that such rejection may be controlled. The research is centering on ways to alter the immune system so that it will not reject transplanted organs.

Art restoration is taking place at centers in Reggio Calabria, Naples, Rome, and Florence, Italy. The work uses the latest medical and scientific technologies. Also on display are examples of early restoration attempts which used cruder methods, but often the results are still beautiful.
