Reliance on the wrong strategy
Article Abstract:
Reliance has performed well compared to other Asian petrochemical companies, which have been hit by the Asian economic crisis. The domestic market accounts for 95% of Reliance's revenues, and this is partly due to strong links with Indian politicians. Indian import duties favor Reliance, which also pays little income tax. The company's production management and financial management have been successful, and Reliance could perform well in world markets. The company may be faced with foreign competition and could be ill-prepared due to its history of protection.

What's wrong with copying?
Article Abstract:
Charges of plagiarism have become more frequent than ever, perhaps because what constitutes true plagiarism is misunderstood. There are differences between imitation and plagiarism, and intent must be considered. Sometimes authors honestly mistake a borrowed concept as an original idea.
