Repsol to sell stock to help finance its offer for YPF

Repsol SA is publicly issuing up to 240 million new shares in an attempt to help finance its acquisition offer for YPF SA. Repsol is a oil and energy firm based in Spain. The company's share offer for YPF is valued at approximately 4.8 billion euros with its closing share price of 19.99 euros on June 21, 1999. Repsol is offering to buy the 85% of YPF that it does not already own for $13.44 billion in cash.
