Researchers indicate flu medicines from Roche, Glaxo show promise
Article Abstract:
Roche Holding Ltd. and Glaxo PLC are developing experimental medications for the treatment of flu. Medical researchers reported that Roche's experimental drug, which is developed in coordination with Gilead Sciences Inc., effectively shortens the length and severity of a typical flu bout that is usually caused by major strains of the influenza microbe. Researchers also stated that a similar-acting drug by Glaxo also significantly trims down the common symptoms of flu, such as severe muscle aches, persisting fever and respiratory congestion.
