Article Abstract:
The Inland Revenue Centre at East Kilbride was designed by Building Design Partnership of Glasgow. The aim was to provide a pleasant, efficient working environment, in a low rise building within parkland. The design is mainly linear providing naturally ventilated office space and the majority of open office areas are oriented towards open landscaped courtyards. The building incorporates a health and fitness centre, restaurant, shop, bank, nursery and social club. Weathered zinc and natural slate have been used for the roofs and slate and solid beech flooring have been used selectively internally.
