Article Abstract:
A two-day event, 'Hotels of the Future' was held in Lausanne's hotel school, EHLITE to find out what sort of social, technological, economic, environmental and political issues might impact the future of the hotel industry. The event tried to answer part of the questions through wish lists and the most interesting idea was that hotel operator can run a hospital, technology can be used for better entertainment and building management systems.

Room for change?
Article Abstract:
European Hotel Design Conference would explore the topic of 'designing for change' in the year 2004. It is argued that hotel designs have not changed since 1950s where the fundamental requirements of hotel guests today includes value for money, cleanliness, security and some personal recognition of their presence.
