OAO Sibneft posted a major turnaround during the first-half of 1999. The company posted $63.8 million (59.4 million euros) during the first half. During the same period in 1998, Sibneft posted a $60.3 million loss The company's revenues declined 45% to $621.59 million. Sibneft became the first oil firm in Russia to post major financial gains from the devaluation of the ruble in 1998.

Russia's oil reserves given higher estimate
