KRUG, a Mosow, Russia-based aviation firm, has awarded Rotorway International an order for 50 Exec 126E helicopters. The EXEC 162E is an Exec 162F variant with additional navigation systems and primarily targeted at the Russian market. Rotorway International delivered its first 162E to Russia, with the company projecting delivery of 50 kits in 1998. The company has also appointed KRUG to represent the company in the Russian market. Among the other representatives appointed by the company for international markets are Autoberg, for Norway and Sweden; I S Flyservice, for Denmark; Heliborne International, for Belgium; Scuderia Farma; for Italy; and others. Kamov upgrades Ka-50
Article Abstract:
Kamov is upgrading its Ka-50 attack helicopter to be able to meet day-only, night, export and combat-management requirements. The upgraded version offers a single-seat cockpit layout that features two color liquid-crystal multi-function displays. The new cockpit is aimed at bringing down pilot workload, particularly in the night flying role. To date, only eight production Ka-50 attack helicopter have been completed. These were all financed in 1990-1996 and delivered to the Army Aviation Combat Training Center at Tozhok for evaluation or to Kamov for trials programmes.

Huzar contract re-opened
Article Abstract:
The Polish defence ministry has reopened a bidding for anti-tank missiles for the PZL-Swidnik Huzar battlefield helicopter. The move results from the failure of Rafael to demonstrate the NTD antitank missile to defence officials under local conditions. Rafel has been given a Nov-1998 deadline to prove the missile's capability. Meanwhile, the ministry is considering other alternative missiles which include the US Hellfire 2, GEC-Marconi Brimstone and the Euromissile HOT 3.
