Russia's fear-worse factor

The new economy that has emerged in Russia since the beginning of market reforms in Jan 1992 is unlikely to help Boris Yeltsin win reelection. Although the statistics are worse than reality, wages and conditions of living have fallen for most, and the distribution of wealth has widened.
