The former Chief Executive James Stanard and the former Controller Martin Merritt of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. of Bermuda have been charged in a civil fraud case. The two executives are accused of setting up a false transaction that deferred $26 million. The case is being investigated by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
