Cerebra Integrated Technologies Limited (CITL), an information technology (IT) company set up its software division in 1997. The software division is currently concentrating on the manufacturing segment. The division develops Web based solutions. It has tied up with several overseas firms. CITL proposes to set up marketing offices in Canada, US, the Middle East and some European nations. The move follows the success of the software division in handling turkey projects in areas such as plant automation, production, planning and control in the domestic market. CITL also produces high-end machines like servers and Internet personal computers. CITL plans to go public by 2000 AD. (ag)(vr)

MAARS SOFTWARE TO SET UP UNITS IN UK, SINGAPORE, AUSTRALIA

Maars Software International Ltd of Chennai, a leading software development and consultancy firm, is establishing wholly-owned subsidiaries in the UK, Singapore and Australia. Maars plans to invest $150,000 in the UK subsidiary and $100,000 each in the other two subsidiaries. The subsidiaries will enable the company to forge tie-ups with international firms for taking up more projects. Maars also specialises in implementing SAP R/3 for which it has an alliance with Standard Application Product AG of Germany. The company recorded net sales of Rs24.68 crore and net profit of Rs5.37 crore in the first nine months ending September 30, 1998. (uh)
