STN Atlas Elektronik wins sensors contract
Article Abstract:
STN Atlas Elektronik has received from the Swiss Army a series of product contract for 120 'Beobachtungs-und Aufklarungsausstattung' (BAA) observation and reconnaissance sensor systems. The first order is to equip 120 Eagle III forward artillery observation vehicles for the Army under a joint program with armored vehicle builder MOWAG and positioning systems integrator Honeywell. Beginning in Feb 2001, the BAA systems on the Swiss 'Schiesskommandantefahrzeuge' will be delivered at a rate of six units a month.

First dutch upgraded naval 127mm gun ready for delivery
Article Abstract:
The Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN) will receive an upgraded 127mm/54 Compact dual-purpose automatic naval gun mount from Alenia Difesa's Otobreda Div on mid-Apr 2000. The mount is the first of the four procured by the RNLN for $17 million in 1996. The mounts will be installed onboard the RNLN's four new LCF-type air-defense and command frigates of De Zeven Provincien-class, the first of which will be launched on Apr 8, 2000.
