Alcatel wins Syracuse III contract
Article Abstract:
Alcatel Space has been selected in a contract signed on Nov 30, 2000 as main contractor for France's next-generation military satellite communications system called Syracuse III. Worth about $1.2 million, the contract covers the in-orbit delivery of a new-generation Syracuse IIIA military satellite and upgrades of the existing ground segment. It also includes options for the in-orbit supply of a second and third satellite in the same series, as well as operational maintenance of the system until 2018.

German and UK companies team on Typhoon test system
Article Abstract:
DRS Rugged Systems of the UK and AIM GmbH of Germany have teamed up to develop the Data Bus Test Equipment (DBTE) for the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft. Both companies will be a subcontractor to BAE Systems, which will provide the Typhoon's avionics interface and the operational software. The DBTE is designed to allow a ground crew unit to test, control, monitor and analyze bus traffic on the Typhoon's databus.
