Sweden is a test market for Internet evolutions, according to Cryo Interactive which installed a subsidiary there in August 1999. The French game software publisher wants to take advantage of its strong skills in audio and video and 3D effects to help companies enhance their Internet sites and make them more attractive. Greater user friendliness in use will supply Internet users with a demo for each of the company's products, Cryo believes. The publisher expects to double its turnover in Sweden in 2000, from SEK 15mn in 1999. Games contribute 90% to the subsidiary's activity, leaving 10% to networks.

AUSTRIA: STATUS OF Y2K PREPARATIONS

According to a poll by Linz-based TMC Directmarketing among the computer services executives of Austria's 500 biggest companies, 56% of the companies see themselves fit for the change of the millennium. Another 23% are in the process of solving the problems, while 21% expect to face problems at the change of the year. Another study by the credit information agency KSV von 1870 among 13,163 firms suggests that 35.9% of Austrian firms see no problem in the change of the millennium. Another 34.7% are still working on the problems, while 29.4% have taken no measures yet concerning Y2K.

Article Abstract:
A study examining the relationship between foreign market entry modes and hard as well as soft Swedish service firms, is presented. The study also analyses which different kinds of foreign market entry modes firms adopt and if at all variances exist among the different types firms within the service sector.
