Save the peace

The peace accord between Israel and the Palestinians is four years ago, and some are wondering if it will survive the conflicts between the Palestinians and the administration of Benjamin Netanyahu. However, the accord must survive, simply because there is no viable alternative.

Former US general Anthony Zinni has been chosen as a peace envoy to spearhead the renewed US attempts to negotiate a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinians. It is thought Zinni will talk with each side separately, before possibly bringing them together.
