The presence of a German naval destroyer among international forces watching for violations against sanctions against Serbia has caused an uproar in Germany. Because of anti-military feeling and fear of past their past history, Germans are against foreign involvement.

EFA without Germany
Article Abstract:
The EFA should be built despite Germany's decision to drop out of the project. Substitutes such as the Russian MIG and the American F-18 are too unreliable and expensive. Strict cost controls could make EFA a model for future joint European defense contracts.
