Setting planned lead times for multi-operation jobs
Article Abstract:
The capacity requirements planning approach is an efficient method for determining a planned lead time for a multi-operation job. The approach involves analyzing average loading times in a shop and changes in capacity requirements on a bottleneck machine. The job's total operation time in a shop determines the lead time. The method can minimize capacity requirement variations on a bottleneck machine within a given average loading time in a shop.

A decision support system (DSS) for agricultural pesticide production planning
Article Abstract:
A decision support system (DSS) for the production planning of agricultural pesticide is presented. The DSS is made up of six loosely coupled modules and is based on a mathematical programming model. The DSS is designed to minimize total production cost and determine seasonal demand fluctuations, labor source and cost variations, raw materials availability and plant operating mode.
