Shell-shocked: Japanese banks

Japanese banks have reordered their priorities since the reckless lending during the 1980's caused many loan write offs. Banks are much more focused on immediate profits instead of heady speculation and asset acquisition. Shedding of excess debt should be a top priority for the next few years.
