Chairman Barry Diller of Fox Television recently resigned, as did co-chief executive Nick Nicholas of Time Warner. There is speculation that this may lead to more mergers between media companies. The merger that created Time Warner has not been of benefit to the respective companies.

The merger of Time and Warner to create Time Warner Inc, the world's largest media conglomerate, is still shrouded under enormous debt. While the company is undoubtedly the industry's biggest player, it remains to be seen how viable the company will actually be.
