Ship maintenance scheduling by genetic algorithm and constraint-based reasoning
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to model military ship maintenance scheduling as a constraint satisfaction problem supporting start time variable and domain values. A genetic algorithm was used to determine the start times of activities. Some of the factors considered in the maintenance schedule for a ship include the running hours, operational requirements and dockyard availability. Results confirmed the efficiency of the hybrid algorithm in determining solutions to military ship maintenance scheduling problems.
