Sidanko creditors support manager to guide changes

AO Sidanko's creditors are recommending that an external manager from Arthur Andersen LLP be appointed to oversee the oil firm's bankruptcy proceedings. Sidanko's bankruptcy proceedings began in January 1999. BP Amoco PLC is a 10% shareholder of Sidanko, which is the fifth largest producer of oil in Russia. BP Amoco wrote off $200 million on its investment in Sidanko.
