Siemens says net rose, but company expects challenges

Sales double at Taiwan Semiconductor

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. posted an improvement in its sales for the month of July 1999. The company's sales more than doubled to a record NT$6.59 billion in July. During the same month in 1998, Taiwan Semiconductor posted NT$3.03 billion. The company benefited from ongoing growth in the semiconductor chip marketplace.
