Aggregate production planning - a survey of models and methodologies
Article Abstract:
A bibliographic compilation of aggregate production planning (APP) models and methodologies since 1950 and are classified according to their ability to provide the user with exact optimal or near-optimal solutions. Although the models and methodologies involved in APP are numerous, very few of these have been implemented in industry. Since APP incorporates human and technological resources to benefit the consumer market, there is a need to study the practical implications over theoretical value.

Dynamic lot-sizing with price changes and price-dependent holding costs
Article Abstract:
A model for solving the dynamic lot-sizing problem with price changes and inventory holding costs is developed with results showing intuitive actions resulting from the heuristic usually leading to almost optimal solutions. Intuitive actions include accumulating stock at lower price just prior to price increases and cutting short on orders due to an imminent price decrease and extensive testing proves the model effective.
