Singapore Press set to restart
Article Abstract:
Singapore Press Holdings, the sole publisher of Singapore's dailies and many of its magazines, is optimistic of recovering from its present financial troubles brought about by poor advertising revenue and investment in extraneous business whose short-term profit potentials are low. The company's optimism lies in the new format of its Singapore Straits Times that comes complete with a 40-page color portion. Furthermore, the country's economy is on the upsurge and this, in itself, should bring more advertising income to the monopoly publisher.
