Article Abstract:
Millenium & Copthorne International Ltd.'s (M&C) new chief operations officer Bill Barnett has decided to move M&C's headquarters in Singapore to a different local location, in the process, laying off 15 of the 60 employees. The move is intended to save around S$800,000 a year, while the company will focus on attracting business professionals who do not want to spend five-star rates. M&C is planning a major renovation to its Singapore location, keeping up with the competition of Le Meridien, Holiday Inn, Marriott, and Novotel.
