Singapore spins web over Internet
Article Abstract:
The Singapore government has given broadcasting authorities broad powers in regulating Internet access in the country. Officials emphasize that discussions on the Internet will not be censored, but the flow of material through this communication network will be blocked if it is pornographic, offensive to any racial or religious group, or politically undesirable. These restrictions on Internet access will not affect Singaporeans who subscribe to US access providers.
