Kmart helps Singaporeans to see the (blue) light
Article Abstract:
Kmart Corp. has firmly established itself in Singapore a mere 10 months after it opened its first store. As in the US, Kmart has become a household name for Singaporean consumers who find the discounter's low prices and wide selection a welcome relief from the island-state's high-end, high-priced department stores. Kmart's success is such that it continues to reap substantial profits at a time when consumer purchasing activity is at an all-time low.
