Sinopec to get $1.17 billion subsidy

China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. is to receive a one-time subsidy of $1.17 billion United States Dollars from the Chinese government as compensation for government controls that keep domestic oil prices below international levels. The petroleum giant is the largest oil refiner in Asia.
