Sir Robin Black
Article Abstract:
Sir Robin Black was a former Hong Kong governor for six years from 1958. The Hong Kong economy was characterized by low taxation and control of government spending in those days, and there was also little discussion of Hong Kong being returned to China. He started large housing projects, and persuaded the Chinese to pipe in more water. He was on good relations with the Chinese authorities, who respected him, since he was a correct civil servant, and not a politician. He had previously worked in Singapore, and this posting was seen as valuable for his appointment in Hong Kong.

Breathless hush in the 'hood
Article Abstract:
Ted Hayes, who for many years lived voluntarily on the streets of Los Angeles, CA, has become the city's leading campaigner for the homeless. He has introduced many homeless people and street children to cricket, creating a team that has proved very successful. He is also keen to promote the traditional Irish sport of hurling. He is now seeking to convert the baseball stadium in the Compton area of the city into the first professional cricket ground in the US, and plans to create the country's first museum of cricket and hurling.
