Skoda Auto commissions spare part centre
Article Abstract:
Skoda Auto (SA) (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), car company, commissioned a spare part centre in June 2000. The investments in the centre, which is the largest logistics centre of its kind in the Czech Republic, amounted to 1.3 bil Kc. The warehouse will supply spare parts to 320 authorised Skoda dealers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and 88 Skoda car importers worldwide. The warehouse will take over components for 78 authorised Volkswagen, Audi and Seat car dealers in the Czech Republic from 4Q 2000.

Skoda Auto to be wholly owned by the Germans

Skoda Auto (SA) (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), car company, will be wholly owned by the car concern Volkswagen (VW) (Germany). VW holds a 70% stake in SA currently. The firm paid a total of 27 bil Kc for the stake. It will buy the remaining 30% stake for 650 mil DEM. The 30% stake is now held by Konsolidacni banka (KoB) (Czech Republic). KoB bought the shares from the National Property Fund of the Czech Republic for 6.5 bil Kc. SA saw a profit of 2.6 bil Kc and proceeds of 111 bil Kc in 1999.

Skoda Auto invests

Skoda Auto (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), car company, wants to build a new testing track with a length of 36 km. The investment costs on the project should be 1.3 bil Kc. The polygon should be commissioned by 2003. Shortly, the firm wants to start the construction of a new assembly plant in Kvasiny, the Czech Republic.
