Slovenska Sporitelna exchanges its owner
Article Abstract:
Slovenska sporitelna (SS) (Bratislava, Slovakia), financial institution, will have a 87.18% stake acquired by Erste Bank (EB) (Austria) at the beginning of 2001. EB will pay EUR 425 mil for the stake. The transaction was agreed by the Slovak government at the end of Dec 2000. EB has been the owner of Ceska sporitelna (CS) (Czech Republic) since 2000. CS is a similar institution in the Czech Republic as SS in Slovakia.

IPS Prague will have a new owner
Article Abstract:
IPS (Prague, Czech Republic), the largest Czech construction firm, should have a majority stake acquired by a new owner in the middle of January 2000. The winner will be chosen from four bidders and will acquire a 53% stake in IPS. The stake is now held by financial groups around Komercni banka (Czech Republic), Zivnostenska banka (Czech Republic) and Ceska sporitelna (Czech Republic).
