Solid vote for Thai market
Article Abstract:
Hong Kong capitalist Heung Chit Kau, through his Acetop Investment, is making a general bid for Thai-Asia Fund despite the uncertainty over Thailand's stock market. The move generates issues on timing as the SET Index dropped by 8% several weeks after Heung made his offer. The offer, prompted by Heung's overall 35.04% stake in Thai-Asia Fund, is made at a greatly reduced price than the fund's net asset value. Heung's 24,000 shares were also brought at 23% off the 59.94 cents net asset value per share.

Direct equity investments hold great promise for sleepy Vietnam funds as stock listings loom
Article Abstract:
Many analysts believe that Vietnam funds will enjoy an increase in the value of their direct equity investments when they become listed. Several closed-end funds specializing in Vietnam have been launched since 1991.
