Some investors see profit opportunity in firms' delisting
Article Abstract:
Hong Kong's Novel Enetrprises Ltd. recently delisted from the Hong Kong stock exchange, allowing some mutual funds to enjoy a profit from the buyback of the knitwear firm's shares. Some analysts believe this may herald a delisting trend in view of the below-par-value share prices in a large number of currently listed firms. The families who control these firms are reportedly dissatisfied with the low share prices and are planning to take these firms private again.
